Blaine Higgs serves as Premier of New Brunswick and Member of the Legislative Assembly for Quispamsis.

He’s a long-time resident of Quispamsis where he resides with his wife, Marcia. He’s also proud to have raised his four daughters in the community.

Blaine holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of New Brunswick and  completed the Executive Management Training Program at Queen’s University.

Born and raised in Woodstock, N.B., Blaine is passionate about making the province a place where families can grow, ensuring opportunities for all, including the next generation of New Brunswickers.

Prior to serving as MLA for Quispamsis, Blaine spent more than three decades working for Irving Oil Limited in Saint John where he held positions in engineering, refining operations, the transportation sector, and served as the Director of Logistics and Distribution before retiring in 2010.

He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in 2010. Since then, he’s served as the Minister of Finance and Minister of Human Resources. Blaine has served as the Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party and Premier of New Brunswick since 2018.

Blaine’s also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grand-kids in the country boating, skiing, snowmobiling and fishing in our beautiful province.
